John Blake coached the Purple Eagles in Basketball, Baseball, and Football. Four years with basketball and baseball and three years with football between the years of 1919-1923. His baseball teams had an all-time record of 86-14 (.860). In 1921-22 his Men's Basketball team had a record of 27-4 (.871).

He played minor league baseball after graduating from Niagara. Blake played from 1913 to 1922 between six teams.
