Hall of Honor
The 1993-94 men's swimming and diving team became the first Niagara program to capture a MAAC Championship. The Purple Eagles were victorious in seven events as they edged Loyola by 22 points to win the championship. The Purple Eagles success in the relay events served as their key to victory. Niagara won four of the five relays in the championship, and placed third in the other relay. The foursome of Ryan Delaney, Ken Krawczyk, John Ruffolo, and Chris VonDuring won both the 200- and 400-yard medley relay. VonDuring teamed with Delaney, Trevor Gabriel, and Jim Burns to win the 400-freestyle relay, and with Krawczyk, Burns, and John Dobbertin to win the 200-yard freestyle relay.
VonDuring also won the 100-yard fly and finished fifth in the 100-yard freestyle and Ruffolo posted wins in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke. Delaney added two individual top-three finishes to go along with his three first-place relay finishes. He was the runner-up in the 200-yard fly and third in the 200-yard fly and third in the 200-yard freestyle. Other third-place finishes for Niagara included Jim Burns in the 200-yard individual medley and the foursome of Delaney, Burns, Chris Newell, and Chris Holland in the 800-yard freestyle.
