The Niagara University Ray Kist Memorial Golf Classic, benefiting Niagara's student-athletes, will be held on Monday, September 22 at the Niagara Falls Country Club in Lewiston, N.Y.
The golf tournament honors the late Ray Kist, the head trainer at Niagara University for 16 years. Ray brought enthusiasm, energy and expertise to his profession, while caring for and treating student-athletes.
Inducted into the Niagara Athletics Hall of Fame in 1993, Ray battled ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) with an upbeat attitude, the same way he would counsel a student. The illness claimed his life at the age of 46 on January 31, 1995. With this tournament, Niagara University honors Ray, and the others like him, that serve the university and its student-athletes from behind the scenes.
All funds raised from the event will directly support Niagara University student-athletes.
