NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. – The Niagara Purple Eagles were defeated by the Binghamton Bearcats, 7-0, on Friday.
Binghamton (6-4) won the doubles point by narrowly winning in one and three doubles. The No. 1 team of
Paulina Velasquez and
Maria Ortiz fell 6-4 to Alexis Tashiro and Shea Brodsky, while the No. 3 team of
Ashley Ta and
Iva Celan lost 7-5 to Annie DiMuro and Olga Ostrovetsky. NU was unable to pick up a set in singles, dropping all six matches in straight sets.
The Purple Eagles (3-5) return to the court to host Manhattan on March 20 in their conference opener.
