Trumbull, Conn. — Niagara women's tennis fell to Fairfield 4-1 in their final match of the regular season Sunday afternoon at the Tennis Club of Trumbull.
All three doubles matches were left unfinished and did not count toward the final score. Fairfield claimed four of the six completed singles matches to secure the win.
Garcia was dominant at No. 1 singles, dispatching Victoria Mandma 6-1, 6-2 to provide Niagara's only victory of the afternoon.
The Stags answered with wins at the next five positions. Anna Neyestani topped Gabriela Melo 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2, and Sophia Harris edged Saloni Tamang 7-5, 6-3 at No. 3. Maria Gell defeated Valeria Mora 6-3, 6-4 at No. 5, while Maeve Cassidy rolled past Julia Clarke-Louie 6-1, 6-3 at No. 6.
The No. 4 match between Niagara's Larisa Kotok and Fairfield's Nicolette Loeffler was left unfinished. The two were deep in a third set — tied at 3-all — after splitting the first two sets.
