Mora Lone Winner in Niagara Loss

Box Score EBENSBURG, Pa. — The Niagara women's tennis team fell to Saint Francis (Pa.) 6-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Ebensburg Tennis Center, with Valeria Mora securing the Purple Eagles' lone point with an 8-4 victory at No. 6 singles.
 
Niagara (1-7) struggled in doubles play, dropping two completed matches. The Saint Francis duo of Diana Zuba and Dasha Chichkina defeated Saloni Tamang and Mercedes Velasco 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, while Morgan Tuffs and Kelly Dowuona topped Amelia Greenawalt and Isabel Garcia 6-1 at No. 3.
 
In singles action, Mora provided the bright spot for the Purple Eagles with her straight-set win over Tuffs. Several Purple Eagles battled in competitive matches, including Velasco at No. 4 singles, who won the first set 6-4 before falling in three sets to Sara Jankovic.
