Women's Tennis Falls In Non-Conference Dual Match To Cornell

Box Score Ithaca, N.Y.—The Niagara women's tennis team traveled to Cornell for its first road match of the spring season. The Big Red defeated the Purple Eagles 7-0.

Doubles
  • The duo of Erika Gonzalez and Mercedes Velasco were in the third doubles position and took the lone win of the day for the Purple Eagles. Niagara was up 5-2 in the match before the match ended due to Cornell securing the doubles point.
  • The team of Madigan Humiston and Enrica Favaron won one set of their match in second doubles.
Singles
  • Elena Mayet was slotted in the second singles and won the opening set of her match but Cornell took the next two sets to win the point.
  • Favaron was the other Purple Eagle to win a set in singles on Sunday. She won the opening set 7-5 before falling 6-3 and 10-5 in the second and third set.
