NIAGARA UNIVERISTY, NY – The Niagara men's and women's tennis programs resume MAAC play this weekend when they travel to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. to take on Marist starting at 10 a.m.
Last Time Out
Men
• The men fell to Xavier and Michigan State last week in East Lansing.
• Tanner Bedard picked up the lone win for Niagara on the week, defeating his Michigan State opponent 6-4, 6-4 on court three.
• Against Xavier, Niagara had three singles matches go three sets but it was the Musketeers that came out on top.
• Against Michigan State, Eduardo Villalpando and Jorge Sedeno won their doubles match, 6-4.
• Bedard's win in singles against the Spartans is the first ever point the Purple and White have taken from Michigan State.
Women
• The Purple and White fell to Cleveland State on Wednesday, 0-7.
• In No. 1 singles, Cleveland State's Oihane Vicario defeated
Elena Mayet 7-6 (7-2), 6-1

Coral Rodriguez fell to Klara Mrcela in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-3

Megan Gamble took her No. 3 singles match against Sima Heren to three sets, but fell to the Viking, 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (10-2)

• In No. 4 singles,
Erika Gonzalez fell to CSU's Tereze Vevere, 6-2, 6-3

Mercedes Velasco fell to Bethany Yauch, 6-4, 6-0, on court six.
• Velasco and Mayet won their No. 3 doubles match over Oihane Vicario and Tereze Vevere 6-4
• Niagara's top pairing of Gamble and Gonzalez fell to Klara Mrcela and Sima Heren 6-1 in No. 1 doubles.
• In No. 2 doubles, Niagara's
Madigan Humiston and Rodriguez dropped their match to CSU's Selma Tounsi and Bethany Yauch, 6-1.
