NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – The Niagara women's tennis program fell to IUP and Bucknell this past weekend by the final scores of 5-2 and 7-0, respectively.
Erika Gonzalez improved to 2-2 overall in dual matches and 2-1 in the No. 4 slot to highlight the Purple Eagles weekend.
Match Recap: IUP
Singles
• Gonzalez picked up a hard-fought win in No. 4 singles, 7-6(2) and 7-6(6) over IUP's Katy Graydon.

Elena Mayet and Karoline Kirchtag went to three sets in No. 1 singles. Mayet took the first set, 6-2, before dropping the next two, 5-7 and 1-6, respectively.

Jaida Borg fell in straight sets to Joanna Stralka, 6-2, 6-2, in No. 2 singles.
• In No. 3 singles
Megan Gamble took on Natashan Munday. The graduate student fell in three sets to Munday, 6-3, 2-6, 5-7.

Mercedes Velasco and Laura Dunarova went to three sets. Velasco dropped the first and third sets but picked up a win in set two.

Madigan Humiston won by default in No. 6 singles.
Doubles
• Mayet and Gambles fell to Stralka and Kirchtag 6-1 in No. 1 doubles.
• No. 2 doubles saw IUP's Munday and Graydon defeat Niagara's Rodriguez and Gonzalez.
• Borg and Velasco won No. 3 doubles by default.

Singles
• In No. 6 singles Humiston took the first set, 6-2, before falling in the second and third, 6-4, 10-7 to Madi Sebulsky in No. 6 singles.
• Mayet fell to the Bisons Daniela Bellini, 6-4, 6-3, in No. 1 singles.
• Gamble dropped her No. 2 singles match to Whitney King, 6-3, 6-2.
• Borg was dispatched by Tyne Miller, 6-1, 6-1, in No. 3 singles.
• No. 4 singles saw Gonzalez fell to Laurel Utterbuck in straight sets 6-2, 6-0.
• Velasco was defeated by Anna Lojas 6-2, 6-2, in No. 5 singles.
Doubles
• Mayet and Gamble dropped the No. 1 doubles match to Bellini and King, 6-3.
• Gonzalez and Humiston fell to Miller and Utterback in a back-and-forth No. 2 doubles match, 6-4.
• In No. 3 doubles, Velasco and Borg were defeated Lojas and Novak, 7-6(3).
