Box Score BUFFALO, NY – The Niagara University women's tennis team fell to Buffalo and St. Bonaventure in their first dual matches of the season.

• Freshman
Mercedes Velasco won her first career dual match in No. 6 singles, defeating Bonaventure's Ara Velilla in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.

Jaida Borg picked up Niagara's first point of the day after beating Andrea Roque, 6-2, 6-1.

Erika Gonzalez had to battle for a three-set win against Bona's Emily Stanley, 3-6, 6-3, 11-9.
Doubles:

Elena Mayet and
Megan Gamble were the only Niagara doubles duo to pick up a win on the day, defeating the Bonnies No. 1 singles duo, 6-4.
• Niagara fell in both second and third doubles and Bonaventure was awarded the point.

• Buffalo dominated both doubles and singles action as the Bulls did not drop a set to the visiting Purple Eagles.
