GAME 7 – Niagara (5-1-0) vs. Akron (2-5-0)
NIAGARA UNIV., NY – The Niagara women's soccer program will close out its non-conference schedule Thursday night against Akron. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Niagara Field.
Series Notes
• Thursday will mark the fifth meeting all-time between the Purple Eagles and Zips. Niagara leads the all-time series, 3-1-1.
• Akron enters the contest on a two-game win streak, while the Purple and White have a five-game win streak.
• The lone match between the two schools to take place at Niagara Field ended in a 0-0 draw.

• Niagara defeated St. Bonaventure in the 99
th minute of Sunday's match when freshman
Maia MacLean scored the golden goal.

Emma Davies scored her first goal as a Purple Eagles in the 4
th minute. Davies also registered her fourth assist of the year on the game-winning goal.

Florence Vaillancourt leads the team with six goals, five assists and 17 points. The forward is second in the MAAC in goals per game (1.2) and first in assists per game (1.0).
• MacLean, who scored the game-winner, earned her second-consecutive MAAC Rookie of the Week award on Monday. The midfielder is second on the team with four goals.
• A total of seven Purple Eagles have found the back of the net, including
Annie Ibey who registered her 20
th career goal and third of the season in Niagara's win over Cornell.
• Niagara has scored a league-best 19 goals and is averaging 3.16 goals per game, which ranks second in the MAAC.
• Since allowing six goals to Buffalo in the season opener, Niagara has held opponents to seven goals in the last five games.
• Head coach
Peter Veltri is sitting on 198 career wins, putting him two away from 200 at the helm of the Purple Eagles.
