The fourth-seeded Niagara Purple Eagles will take on the top-seeded Quinnipiac Bobcats in the 2021 MAAC Championship Semifinals on Saturday.  
 

SCENE SETTER

• The Purple Eagles qualified for the four-team tournament for the fifth time since 2013.   
• Niagara has won the MAAC Tournament twice (2003 & 2005) in program history.
• Niagara and Quinnipiac will meet for the fourth time in the last six MAAC Championships. The Purple Eagles fell to the Bobcats in the 2015 MAAC Championship Final and in the 2016 and 2018 MAAC Championship Semifinals.

 

MATCH TIDBITS

• Jaida Borg and Erika Gonzalez each have won seven matches to share team-high honors. Borg went 7-1 in four singles, including going 5-1 in MAAC matches. Gonzalez has won seven of her last eight matches.
• Elena Mayet sits second on the team in singles with six wins, including a 4-2 record in two singles.
• In doubles, the No. 1 team of Elena Mayet and Megan Gamble have won a team-leading five matches.
• Coral Rodriguez/Madigan Humiston and Erika Gonzalez/Kirah Regales both won three matches.
