LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – Rider took both games of a doubleheader against Niagara Friday afternoon.
Game Recap
• With two outs in the bottom of the second, Rider scored five runs to take a commanding 6-0 lead. Lani Moreno accounted for two of the Broncs five runs in the inning with a two RBI single.
• Niagara got one run back in the top of the third as
Maggie Vesneske scored on a wild pitch.
• The Broncs would add one more in the fourth to make the score 7-1.
• Niagara threatened to score in the seventh, however Rilley Crum struck out with two runners on in the final inning.
Eagle's Eye On
• Vesneske and
Heather Haberman led the Purple Eagles with two hits apiece.
• Haberman had the lone extra-base hit for Niagara, with a double in the seventh.
• In the circle,
Karsen Cotton pitched six innings, allowing 10 hits, five earned runs, while striking out five. Cotton moves to 0-3 on the season.

Samantha Hare went 1-for-2 with a single and a stolen base in game one.
• Niagara left 10 runners on base.

Game Recap
• Niagara took an early 1-0 lead as Vesneske scored from second on an RBI single from
Shayna Myshrall.
• Rider tied the game in the bottom half of the first inning as Elana Gonzalez drove in Alyssa Ansara on a single to center field.
• Niagara scored three runs in the third inning, the first of which came on an error by the Broncs shortstop.
Riley Crum and
Rachel Funk drove in the other two runs with a pair of singles.
• The Broncs scored twice in the bottom half of the fourth to trim the Purple Eagle laed to 4-3.
• A Rider double in the bottom of the fifth inning drove in the game-tying run for the Broncs.
• The Broncs scored the game wiining run in the bottom of the seventh with a single up the middle.
Eagle's Eye On
• Crum got the start in game two for the Purple Eagles. The sophomore finished the game with 6.2 innings pitched, five runs allowed on 10 hits and three strikeouts. She did not surrender a walk.
• Funk, Myshrall and Crum had two hits and one RBI in game two of the doubleheader.
•
Olivia McClain went 1-for-4 in her collegiate debut, with one run scored.
