Niagara University, N.Y. - Niagara Softball swept Saint Peter's in a sixth inning rally as they scored six runs to defeat the Peacocks 7-6 at the Niagara Softball Field in Niagara University, N.Y.
Saint Peter's got on the board first in the top of the first as Carlee Charles reached on a fielder's choice to allow Kiana Kadena Matsuda to score to take an early 1-0 lead.
The Peacocks took back the lead in the second inning as Angelina Wagner scored off a wild pitch. Matsuda would then single to drive Larren Czerwinski home to put the game at 3-1.
Saint Peter's would then add three more runs in the sixth as Wagner scored off a sacrifice fly from Kayla Foy. Paige Seemon then singled to center to drive Hannah Klotz and Bella Nutting to score to move the game to 6-1.
CJ Haney would then single up the middle to bring home Sheehan to cut the lead to two. Haney would then score courtesy of
Carmella Phelan as she singled up the middle to move the contest to 6-5 in favor of Saint Peter's.
Cenname would tie the game a six apiece as she singled to left field to drive Barnett home. As the bases were loaded, Gibbons had a disciplined four pitch at bat as she was walked with the bases loaded which allowed Phelan to score the game winning run to make the Purple and White victorious 7-6.
Gianna Graber started the game as she pitched 1.2 innings as she faced 10 batters with one strikeout. Ryan Hatty then pitched five innings as she faced 21 batters with one punch out in the winning effort.
Abbey Steen recorded one out as she faced four batters.
