BUFFALO, NY – The Niagara women's tennis took part in the UB Fall Invite this weekend. The Purple Eagles paired with Syracuse in three dual matches during the three-day event at the Miller Tennis Center in Williamsville.
Friday Recap – vs. St. John's
Singles
•
Elena Mayet fell in straight sets to St. John's Delucas, 6-1, 6-1.
•
Coral Rodriguez dropped her match to St. John's Breunich, 6-1 and 6-3.
•
Jaida Borg dropped her match to Ordonez, 6-3, 6-1.
•
Erika Gonzalez was defeated by Devarakonda, 6-3, 6-0.
•
Mercedes Velasco fell in her match to Lopez 6-1, 6-2
•
Megan Gamble took on Cornell's Balog, 6-1, 6-3.
Doubles
• Rodriguez and
Madigan Humiston took on Breunich and Ordonez and fell, 6-2.
• Gamble and
Emma Shea took on Haakansson and Lopez and were defeated, 6-2.
Saturday Recap – vs. Cornell
Singles
• Gonzalez defeated Cornell's El Ashram in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6 (6), for the Purple and White's first win of the weekend.
• Mayet battled in the first ser in her match with Adiaconieti but ended up falling in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3.
• Rodriguez dropped her match with Wong, 6-0, 6-2.
• Borg was defeated by Ho in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0.
• Velasco fell to Balog, 6-0, 6-4.

Kirah Regales fell in her first match of the weekend to Pryce, 6-2, 6-1.
Doubles
• Mayet and Gamble fell 6-1 to Adiaconieti and Ho in doubles action.
• Borg and Gonzalez dropped their doubles action to Balog and Mi, 6-0.
Sunday Recap - vs. Buffalo
Singles
• In the final match of the weekend, Niagara once again paired with Syracuse to take on the Bulls.
• Mayet fell in No. 3 singles to UB's Comlek, 6-3,6-2.
• Rodriguez fell 6-1, 6-1 to Buffalo's Akupyan in No. 4 singles.
• Gonzalez dropped her match with Amat, 6-3, 6-4.
• Velasco dropped her No. 5 singles game, 6-1, 6-0.
• Regales and Humiston also dropped their matches, 6-0, 6-4 and 6-0, 6-0, respectively.
Doubles
• Gamble and Mayet battled, but eventually fell to Buffalo's doubles pairing of Amat/Schietekat, 7-5
• Rodriguez and Gonzalez also took part in doubles action, dropping their match, 6-4.
