The Niagara University women's tennis team sent three Purple Eagles to compete at the 2019 USTA/ITA Northeast Championships. Andreea Peteu was in the main singles draw, while the tandem of Megan Gamble and Erika Gonzalez played in the main doubles draw.

Tournament Summary
Singles

• Andreea Peteu drew Hofstra's Maddie Brown in the first round. Peteu won the first set, 6-3. However, Brown won the next two sets, 6-1, 6-1, to advance to the next round.

Doubles

• Niagara's top doubles team this fall – Megan Gamble and Sofia Gonzalez – played Seton Hall's Pitts and Kaur in the first round. The pair outlasted the SHU duo, 8-7(6) to advance to the next round.
• Gamble/Gonzalez faced UMass' Kovacevic and Bocchi in the second round where they fell, 8-3.

Eagle's Eye On…

• The duo of Megan Gamble and Erika Gonzalez has won a team-high seven doubles matches out of 16.

• The Purple Eagles are back in action on January 31 when they play at Buffalo at 7 p.m.
