The Purple Eagles will play two dual matches on Saturday to open their home schedule for the 2018-19 season.

Scene Setter
  • Niagara opens its home slate with matches versus Carnegie Mellon and local rival Buffalo on Saturday at the Niagara Tennis Courts.
  • Niagara began the season competing in the Bison Invite hosted by Bucknell University on September 21-23. The two matches on Saturday will be Niagara's first dual competitions of the season.
  • Last season, the Purple Eagles went 7-2 at home including a perfect 4-0 on campus.

Match Tidbits
  • Chinnda Som and Megan Gamble both went 2-1 in their respective singles flight at the Bison Invite. Som played in Flight 1 and defeated Binghamton's Tiffany Dun (6-2, 7-6) and Marist's Chloe Lant (7-5, 6-2). Gamble won versus Binghamton's Regina Furer (6-2, 6-1) and Marist's Sam Galu (6-4, 7-6, 9-7)
  • The duo of Ali Hutchinson and Olga Donchu won Flight 2 in the Bison Invite. The pair picked up victories versus IUP, Bucknell, and Marist.

Across The Net: Carnegie Mellon
  • Carnegie Mellon has already played in three invitational this fall.  
  • Two members won championships at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships on September 24. The duo of Melissa Strome and Danna Taylor won the doubles while Taylor won the singles crown.  
     
Across The Net: Buffalo Bulls
  • The Bulls return six letterwinners from last season's MAC Championship squad that went 17-4 overall before falling to Northwestern in the NCAA Tournament.
  • UB will be making its dual debut with matches versus UB and Carnegie Mellon.
  • Niagara trails UB in the all-time series, 31-9, and will be looking for its first win in the series since September 2002 (lost last seven meetings).
