WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – The Niagara University women's tennis team opened its home schedule with a convincing, 6-1, win against the Colgate Raiders on Sunday.
 
Match Summary

• The Purple Eagles started the match by taking two of three doubles to win the point.
• Sharlee Deshmukh and Shannon Wong won in No. 1 doubles, 6-3, while Andreea Peteu and Stella Peisakhova cruised to a 6-1 win in three doubles.
• Peteu eased to a straight-set win over Lauren O'Brien in two singles.
• Niagara took a 3-0 lead when Peisakhova defeated MacKenzie Deeter, 6-4, 6-4, in one singles.
• The Purple Eagles clinched the match when freshman Chhinda Som beat Jordan Williams, 6-1, 7-6(5).
• Deshmukh and Wong also earned wins in six and four singles, respectively.
