The Niagara women's tennis team starts its spring semester at the ACC's Syracuse Orange on Sunday, January 21 at 11 a.m.
First Serve
- The NU went 3-0 in dual matches, with wins over Walsh, Daemen and SUNY Geneseo, during the fall season. The Purple Eagles went 25-16 in singles matches, including 14-4 in dual matches.
- Three Purple Eagles – Stella Peisakhova, Sharlee Deshmukh, and Andreea Peteu – had five singles wins. NU went 11-6 in doubles matches, including 7-2 in dual matches.
- The team of Andreea Peteu and Ali Hutchinson had a team-best 4-1 record.

- Niagara was picked fifth in the 2018 MAAC Women's Tennis Poll announced on Thursday.
Across The Net – Syracuse Orange
- This is Syracuse's first dual match of the season.
- Junior Gabriela Knutson finished the fall season ranked No. 17 in the ITA National Singles Rankings.
- Sophomore Miranda Ramirez and doubles partner Knutson was ranked 16th in the nation.
- The Purple Eagles are 0-3 all-time against Syracuse as they faced the Orange in three straight seasons from 2008-10.
