ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – The Purple Eagles women's tennis team swept the Rider Broncs, 7-0, on Friday, improving their conference record to 2-1.

In doubles play, Niagara's (6-9, 2-1 MAAC) No. 1 duo of Stella Peisakhova and Shannon Wong downed the Broncs' No. 1 tandem, 6-0. The No. 2 team of Sydnee Wheeler and Hollins and the No. 3 doubles team of Sharlee Deshmukh and Leann Richert picked up 6-1, 6-2 wins, respectively.

In singles play, all six matches were won in straight sets. In No. 5 singles, Deshmukh did not concede any games, downing her opponent 6-0, 6-0. Wong improved to a team-best 8-5 spring record with a 6-2, 6-1 victory in No. 4 singles.

The Purple Eagles are back in action on Saturday, March 26 against the Monmouth Hawks.
