ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – The Niagara Purple Eagles fell to the Duquesne Dukes, 4-0, in women's tennis action on Saturday from the South Towns Tennis Club.
 
Niagara (2-2) lost the doubles point to start the match. The No. 2 pair of Stella Peisakhova and Shannon Wong was edged, 7-6(1), as the Dukes (4-1) clinched the point after having won in No. 1 doubles.
 
Duquesne clinched the match by winning in No. 1, 2 and 3 singles. Haley Hollins forced a first set tie breaker before falling 7-6(1), 6-3 in No. 2 singles and Sydnee Wheeler also forced a tie breaker in the second set, though lost in straight sets  6-0, 7-6(3).
 
The Purple Eagles begin a three-game road trip starting at local rival Buffalo on Feb. 13.
