AKRON, Ohio – The Niagara Purple Eagles fell at the Akron Zips, 6-1, on Friday.
Niagara (1-1) opened its spring season with a victory over Saint Francis (Pa.) last Friday, but faced a tough test in the Akron Zips.
NU dropped all three matches to lost the doubles point, and fell in five of the six singles matches. The lone win came from
Sharlee Deshmukh, who defeated Carla Flores in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, in five singles.
The Purple Eagles will face local rival St. Bonaventure on Saturday.
