NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. – The Niagara women's tennis team fell to the Big 12's West Virginia Mountaineers, 6-1, on Saturday in its home opener.
Sophomore
Brooke Briseno picked up her second straight win of the season when she outlasted Yvon Martinez, 4-6, 6-3, 10-5 in No. 6 singles.
WVU (3-1) won the doubles point with identical 6-1 wins in No.2 and 3 doubles. The Mountaineers followed by winning five straight singles matches.
NU (1-2) continues its home weekend versus Colgate on Sunday.
