NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – The Purple Eagles dropped both games of their doubleheader against Fairfield on Sunday afternoon at Sal Maglie Stadium, losing game one in extra innings 4-2 and game two by a score of 13-1.
	 
	Game One
	Niagara (15-21, 5-9 MAAC) was the first team on the board when a 
Ryan McCauley double brought home Joel Klock and put NU up 1-0. 
	 
	Fairfield (17-20, 6-6 MAAC) tied the game at 1-1 with an RBI single in the fourth, the only run 
Drew Fittry gave up after earning the start.  Fittry got a no decision after pitching five innings and giving up the single run and scattering five hits.  The Stags took a 2-1 lead on a wild pitch later in the top of the seventh.
	 
	In their half of the seventh inning, 
Jesse Harris came in as a pinch hitter with runners on second and third.  Harris drew a walk with two outs and 
Wynton Bernard scored on a wild pitch to tie the game 2-2.
	 
	The teams combined for two hits through the first two of the three extra innings and the game headed into the tenth still tied at 2-2.  Fairfield pulled ahead in the top of the inning scoring two runs on two hits, two walks, and a sacrifice fly to take the two-run lead that held up through the bottom of the inning, giving the Stags a 4-2 win.
	 
	McCauley and Bernard tied with a team-high two hits, going 2-for-4 and 2-for-3 respectively, with McCauley adding the RBI.
	 
	
Game Two
	In the second half of the doubleheader, Fairfield was the first on the board, scoring two runs in the top of the second on one hit and one error.  It added to its lead over the next three innings, adding one run in each of the third and the fourth while putting up to more in the fourth. 
	 
	The Stags extended their lead again in the top of the seventh and eighth innings, adding seven more runs to their total and were leading 13-0 going into the ninth.  Niagara got on the board in the bottom of the ninth when McCauley singled to brought across 
Anthony Ruggiero made the score to 13-1.
	 
	Harris, starting as a designated hitter, had a team-high two hits in game two by going 2-3 at the plate.  
Jordan Schwartz started the game for NU and received the loss after pitching four innings and giving up four runs, three earned.
	 
	The Purple Eagles are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Kent State with first pitch at 3 p.m.
