North Tonawanda, N.Y.- The Niagara women's tennis team was shut out saturday afternoon by the score of 7-0. Raquel Solis and Brittany Walters put in a strong effort in the second doubles pairing but were defeated by Samantha Inacker and Stephanie Bender of Colgate by the score of 8-7. Walters also played strong in her singles match but she was downed by Jackie Stimmel, 6-3, 2-6 (11-9).
In singles action, Senior Emma Cunnington lost a tough contest to Cameron Williams of Colgate, 7-6 (10-8), 6-3. In the top singles matchup Hilary Hansen was defeated by Elise DeRose, 6-1, 6-4. In doubles action, the top pairing of Hansen and Alyssa Lucas were defeated by DeRose and Williams of Colgate by the score of 8-4 in a closely contested match.
The purple eagles were unable to pick up a double or singles point as there record is now 0-9 for the season. Raquel Solis
