LORETTO, Pa.- The Niagara women's tennis team picked up a solid non-conference victory on Saturday as it defeated St. Francis (Pa.), 5-2.
Sophomore Alyssa Lucas won her singles match in dominating fashion as she won by the score of 6-0, 6-2. Lucas also picked up a doubles victory with her teammate Emma Cunnington.
In singles action, Raquel Solis picked up a solid victory as she defeated the top singles member on the St. Francis Pa. team by the score of 6-2, 6-1. Junior Brittany Walters continued to play well as she picked up a singles victory in decisive fashion by the score of 6-1, 6-2.
In doubles action, Solis and Walters paired up to pick up a victory and to solidify the doubles point for Niagara with their victory by the score of 8-5. The double pairing of Julia Gray and Richards were unable to pick up a victory as they were downed by the score of 8-1.
The Purple Eagles won this match by the score of 5-2 to improve their win total to three on the young season. Niagara will return to the hardcourt on Saturday, March 27 at conference rival Rider at Noon.
