NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. – The Niagara women’s tennis team won its home conference opener with a resounding 7-0 victory over the Rider Broncs on Sunday afternoon. The Purple Eagles did not drop a single set in eight matches.
Niagara (5-6, 3-0) improved to 3-0 in the MAAC on day.
The Purple Eagles won all three double matches, including a 8-2 decision by Hilary Hansen (Charlottetown, P.E.I.) and Alyssa Lucas (Clarkston, Mich.).
In singles action, Niagara rolled to six victories in convincing fashion; only four Broncs (2-9, 0-3) won games.
Niagara will play Mercyhurst at home on March 13.
