CLEVELAND – Freshmen Hilary Hansen (Charlottetown, P.E.I.) and Alyssa Lucas (Clarkston, Mich.) picked up two wins in Niagara’s 5-2 defeat at the Cleveland State Vikings on Saturday.
“We are improving and getting closer every week,” Niagara head coach Paul Calkins said about his team performance so far.
Hansen beat the Vikings Charlotte Gibbons 60 67 (5), while Lucas defeated Melissa Holzinger in straight-sets, 61 64.
After dropping the first two doubles matches, Niagara (0-3) dropped a tough 97 decision led by Brittany Walters (Buffalo, N.Y.) and Vanja Lakic (Waterloo, Ont.).
The two wins are the most Cleveland State (4-0) has allowed this spring.
