Women's Tennis Drops 5-2 Decision At Colgate

HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Niagara women’s team lost 5-2 to the Colgate Red Raiders on Saturday afternoon at Sanford Fieldhouse. Senior Vanja Lakic (Waterloo, Ont.) and sophomore Raquel Solis (Puebla, Mexico) picked up the single wins for the Purple and White.

 

Solis defeated Colgate’s Erin Fenn in straight sets, 64 61, in the number three single match. Lakic followed Solis with a straight set victory of her own; she beat Cameron Williams 61 64. Niagara’s only double win came from Brittany Walters (Buffalo, N.Y.) and Lakic, an 84 victory over Alexandra Erickson and Stephanie Brown.    

 

Niagara will play its first conference match of the season at Saint Peter’s on Feb. 21, starting at 11 a.m.
