HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Niagara University women’s tennis team (5-6) picked up two wins, but it wasn’t enough to beat Bucknell University, falling 5-2 in a non-conference match.
Senior Jacquelyn Cary (Selkirk, N.Y.) was a double winner, winning 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6 singles and then teamming with senior Julianne Prokopich (Loretto, Ont.) to win at No. 3 doubles, 8-5.
Junior Shella Dargout (Rochester, N.Y.) won at No. 5 singles, 7-5, 6-0.
The Purple Eagles return to action Wednesday when they play the University of Dayton.
