NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – The Niagara University women’s tennis team (2-3) suffered a 7-0 loss to Cleveland State Saturday in a non-conference match at Sportsplex in Tonawanda.
Of the nine matches played, the Purple Eagles claimed victory only at No. 3 doubles when freshman Vanja Lakic (Waterloo, Ont.) and sophomore Kim Roberts (Victoria, B.C.) defeated Jenn Myers and Christine Vogelgesang, 8-6.
Niagara returns to action Feb. 11 when it opens its Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference spring schedule hosting Saint Peter’s College at 6 p.m. at Sportsplex.
