Box Score Wexford, Pa. - Niagara men's tennis dropped a 7-0 decision to Duquesne on Friday afternoon.
The Purple Eagles were swept in the doubles point, losing two of three matches while the third was left unfinished. The duo of Aryav Bhawan and Damian Janiszewski fell 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, and Ekansh Shukla and Shriven Somasi were defeated 6-3 at No. 3. Logan Wong and Sarosh Rustomjee were competitive at No. 2, leading 5-4 before the match was suspended.
Niagara couldn't build on any momentum in singles play, dropping all six matches. The closest contest came at No. 3, where Logan Wong pushed Alfrendo Vogelaar to a decisive third-set tiebreak before ultimately falling 6-2, 3-6, 7-6(5). Aryav Bhawan also forced a third set at No. 2, winning the opener 6-4 before Aril Kayra Tuna rallied to win 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. The remaining four Purple Eagles — Janiszewski, Sarosh Rustomjee, Shukla, and Somasi — all fell in straight sets.
