NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – Niagara women's cross country sophomore Alexa Briggs has been named MAAC Women's Runner of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday afternoon. 

This is Briggs' second Women's Runner of the Week award with the last coming September 14 2024. The Rochester, N.Y. native led the Niagara women's cross country team won the Little Three for the first time since 2019 and the third time in the last 20 years.Briggs took home the Little Three crown on the women' side finishing the course in 17:59.1. 

Niagara will be back in action September 20 at the Yellowjacket Invitational at the University of Rochester.
