Rochester, NY - More school records fell as the Niagara women's track and field team completed the Cardinal Classic hosted by St. John Fisher on Saturday.
How it Happened
Multiple Purple Eagles took first place in their events. Hannah Adderley-Julien claimed first place in the long jump with a score of 5.97. Alexa Briggs also took home first in the 1500m (4:45.96) and the 5000m (18:01.11) breaking the school records in both events. Deborah Boryzewicz claimed first in the 200m with a time of 25.28. The 4x400 team of Lauryn Speicher, Arrianna Blachowicz, Adderley-Julien and Vanessa Woolery gave Niagara their final victory of the meet crossing the line in 4:08.71.
Alissa Mete also broke her own school record in the steeplechase, crossing the line in 11:24.09 to place fourth. Sarah Mruk followed her up placing seventh with a 11:47.96. Clara Barr also broke the school record in the 100m hurdles placing second with a time of 12.36.
Boryzewicz placed third in the 100m, crossing the line in 12.36. Sapphire John tallied two top-10 finishes, placing second in the 200m with a time of 25.70 and crossing the line in 1:01.55 to place seventh in the 400m. Sara Mueller also competed in the 5000m, placing third with a time of 18:28.62.
