Buffalo, NY - The Niagara Women's Track and Field team continued their outdoor season competing in the UB Alumni Invite over the weekend.
Alexa Briggs broke another school record, this time in the 1500m race, crossing the line in 4:45.14.
Alissa Mete finished the 3000m steeplechase in second place with a time of 11:35.42, while Sarah Mruk placed fourth, crossing the line in 12:05.19. Clara Barr ran a 15.29 in the 100m hurdles for a third place finish.
Sapphire John (12.51) and Soraya Ross (12.60) placed third and fourth respectively in the 100m race. John also placed fifth in the 400m with a time of 1:00.11, while Ross finished sixth in the 200m, crossing the line in 25.78.
Deborah Borysewicz finished fifth in the 100m with a time of 12.62 and fourth in the 200m, crossing the line of 25.47. Lauryn Speicher also competed in the 200m placing seventh.
Vanessa Wollery ran a 1:07.14 in the 400m hurdles for a sixth place finish, while Sara Mueller took part in the 5000m with a time of 18:43.03.
The women's 4x400 team of Arrianna Blachowicz, Speicher, Woolery and Brittany Day (4:05.01) and the 4x100 team of John, Ross, Speicher and Borysewicz (48.14) both placed second.
