Box Score 2 Latham, NY — Niagara's men's and women's tennis teams split in matches against Siena on Sunday. The women took down the Saints 6-1, while the men fell 2-5.
Niagara swept the doubles on the women's side with Gabriela Melo and Isabel Garcia winning at the No. 1 position 6-4. The duo of Saloni Tamang and Mercedes Velasco locked up the doubles point for the Purple Eagles at the No. 3 doubles winning 6-2.
Niagara swept the first five positions for the singles with Melo, Garcia, Larisa Kotok, Tamang and Valeria Mora all earning victories.
On the men's side Siena took the doubles point winning at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles. The duo of Trevor Masi and Jose Maria Garcia were able to earn the victory at the No. 3 singles.
Gurustat Makkar and Rohan Srivastava both were able to win their singles matches at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots respectively.
