NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – Niagara women's bowling incoming freshman Kate Ackerman has been named USA Today's National Female Bowler of the Year, the publication announced earlier this month.
 
Ackerman attended Maple Hill High School where she won the New York State Girl's Bowling Championship, was one of 10 Capital District Female Athletes of the Year, and the John Drexel Memorial Scholarship recipient.
 
Ackerman is one of five freshman that join eight returning Purple Eagle bowlers in 2024-25.
