Indianapolis, Ind.—Niagara will travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma for the NCAA Baseball Regional. The Purple Eagles will take on Oklahoma State in their first NCAA Tournament game in program history. Florida and Nebraska are the other teams in the regional.
The Purple Eagles won their first MAAC Championship on May 25 by defeating top-seeded Fairfield 10-6 in Pomona, N.Y. on Saturday.
Matt Ward was named MAAC Championship MVP while Zach Cameron, Ryan Minckler, Rees Kozar, and Brady Desjardins were all named to the All-Championship team.
Niagara has already set multiple program records along with winning its first MAAC Championship. Niagara has a program-best 38 wins this season while finishing MAAC play with a program-best 20 wins. The Purple Eagles also earned a share of the MAAC Regular Season Championship.
Six Purple Eagles earned All-MAAC honors while Niagara also earned three major awards. Eric Rataczak earned MAAC Player of the Year Honors, Cameron became the first Purple Eagle to win MAAC Relief Pitcher of the Year honors while head coach Rob McCoy was named MAAC Coach of the Year.
The regional is a double-elimination tournament with the winner advancing to the Super-Regional.
