Box Score Amherst, N.Y.—The Niagara men's tennis team notched their first win of the spring as they defeated Daemen on Sunday evening. The Purple Eagles swept the Wildcats 7-0 in the match.
Doubles
Tanner Bedard and Trevor Masi teamed up in first singles and defeated Daemen 6-3 in their match. They are now 2-0 this season when playing doubles together.
The freshman duo of Vid Maric and José Maria García notched their first win as a team as they won 6-2 in second doubles.
Bryce Bodak and Gurustat Makkar teamed up in third doubles. Despite having to win seven games they came away with a 7-5 win to have the Purple Eagles sweep doubles.
Singles
Maric appeared in first singles for the first time in his career and he took home his third win of the season as he won 6-3, 6-3.
Manuel Alonso played second singles for the first time this season, he won the first set 6-3 and completed the two-set sweep with a 6-4 win in the second set.
García played in third singles in his second career dual match, he won the first set 6-2 before shutting out his opponent 6-0 in the second set.
Bodak won his fourth singles match in straight set as he won both sets 6-2. He improves to 2-2 in dual matches this season.
Roberto Vaca won his first set in fifth singles 6-3, after falling in the second set, he secured his second win of the season as he won the third set 6-1.
Salvador Vazquez improved to 3-0 this season as he won 6-3, 6-1 in sixth singles.

The Purple Eagles are back in action on Feb. 17 as they travel to St. Bonaventure to take on the Bonnies before returning home to face Le Moyne on Feb. 18.
