CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Niagara University swimming team concluded competition at the 2024 Magnus Cup on Saturday, with several Purple Eagles reaching A-finals across multiple events.

Lance Cruz led the men's team with two A-final appearances, finishing second in the 100-yard individual medley (50.96) and fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:00.71). Teammate
Alex Subotich also reached the championship final in the 50-yard butterfly, placing ninth with a time of 22.67.

On the women's side, freshman Marty Divis had the Purple Eagles' top individual performance of the day, taking seventh in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:08.96.
Natalie Killion demonstrated her backstroke prowess by securing third place in the 200-yard event, touching the wall in 2:00.44.

The women's team also saw
Alaina Pitton reach the A-final in the 200-yard breaststroke, where she placed fifth (2:16.81), while
Lila Maddux qualified for the championship heat of the 100-yard individual medley, finishing 14th overall.

In the team standings, the Niagara women finished eighth out of 13 teams with 408 points, while the men placed fifth among 10 teams with 641 points. The meet was won by Akron University on the women's side and Cleveland State University for the men.
