Geneva, OH. — Niagara swimming teams continued their dominant performance at the 2026 MAAC Championships on Thursday, with multiple athletes reaching the podium at SPIRE Institute in Geneve, OH.
Women's Competition
Junior
Natalie Killion led the Purple Eagles with a victory in the 500-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 4:49.75. Killion, who set the conference record in the event last year (4:48.18), held off Mount Saint Mary's Carmen Del Aguila Martin (4:51.15) and Sacred Heart's Sophia Velleco (4:53.95).
In the 200-yard individual medley, junior
Alaina Pitton broke the MAAC record with a time of 2:00.99. Pitton improved on her winning time from last year (2:02.03) and topped sophomore Daphne Mead of Canisius (2:02.79). Senior
Chloe Vlaeminck added a third-place finish for Niagara in 2:04.55.
Junior
Claire Gorton placed second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.35, while junior
Megan Jackson finished fourth in 23.49.
The Purple Eagles' 200-yard freestyle relay team of Jackson, Gorton, freshman
My-Ky Vo and Pitton won the event in 1:33.39.
Men's Competition
In the men's 500 freestyle, sophomore
Jordan Grab placed fifth in 4:30.97.
Niagara had five swimmers in the men's 200 IM. Freshman
Vilem Mikula led the way with a victory in 1:47.73, followed by sophomore
Holden Brock in third (1:48.37), junior
Thomas Latimer in fifth (1:48.91), sophomore
Ethan Hunter in sixth (1:50.03) and sophomore
Michael Levine in seventh (1:50.17). Sophomore Lance Rafael Cruz rounded out the scoring with an eighth-place finish in 1:50.39.
The Purple Eagles finished fifth in the men's 200-yard freestyle relay with the team of Mikula, Brock, freshman
Jura Domanovac and junior
Nate Eaton touching in 1:21.92.
After two days of competition, Niagara's women sit in second place with 412 points behind Marist (457), while the men are tied for second with Marist at 397 points, trailing Fairfield (473.5).

Niagara is back in action tomorrow Friday February 13 for day three of the MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships as the first session is set for 9:30 a.m. followed by session two at 5:30 p.m.
