BUFFALO, N.Y. - Niagara University's cross country teams showed promise at the 2024 Canisius Alumni Classic on Saturday, with solid performances in both the men's and women's races.

Senior
Braden York led the Purple Eagles men's team with a third-place finish in the 8K race, clocking a time of 24:53.8. York's strong showing helped propel Niagara to a fourth-place team finish out of 11 competing schools.

Niagara's men's top five was rounded out by sophomore Luc Diflavio (26:42.1, 24th), junior
Caleb Noble (26:55.8, 28th), sophomore
Caleb Harman (27:12.4, 31st), and junior
Brendan Kelly (28:45.1, 46th).

On the women's side, freshman
Alexa Briggs paced Niagara with a ninth-place finish in the 5K event, crossing the line at 18:30.1. The Purple Eagles women also secured fourth place overall in the team standings.
