NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – Niagara men's and women's swimming head coach
Eric Bugby has announced the programs 2023-24 slate which includes a total of six events at the Oxy Aquatic Center.
The Purple Eagles will swim in a pair of preseason meets, the first an exhibition against McMaster, followed by the annual Purple & White and Alumni Meet on Sep. 30. Both events will take place at the Oxy Aquatic Center.
Niagara will host St. Bonaventure on Oct. 13 to officially open the season. The dual meet marks the first since January of 2022 between the longtime rivals.
The men will travel to Ithaca, N.Y., to take on Cornell on Sep. 21.
The Purple and White will then travel to Youngstown, Ohio, on Sep. 29 for a meet against Youngstown State. The women's team will also compete against Saint Francis (Pa.) in Youngstown, the program's lone tri-meet of the season.
The women's team will host Stonehill to open the November portion of NU's schedule.
The Purple Eagles will compete in the Magnus Invite from Nov. 16 through Nov. 18 and the US Open in Greensboro, N.C., from Nov. 29 through Dec. 2 to close the fall semester.
Niagara returns to the pool on Jan. 9 at Cleveland State, followed by a trip across the border to take on Waterloo on Jan. 13.
The Purple Eagles return to Montealge Ridge for their final two home meets of the season, the first against rival Canisius on Jan. 20, followed by a meeting with Le Moyne on Jan. 26.
The 2023-24 regular season comes to a close on Jan. 27 with a trip to Erie, Pa., to take on Gannon.
The 2024 MAAC Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Championships will take place Feb. 14-18 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
Qualified individuals and relay teams will compete at the National Invitational Championship in Ocala, Fla., March 14-16.
