State College, Pa.—Former Niagara pitcher Jacob Bruning '22 has signed in the MLB Draft League and will suit up for the State College Spikes.
Bruning played for Niagara from 2019-2022 before closing out his career at South Alabama. He pitched in 41 games for Niagara which included 21 starts. In 136.2 innings he struck out 136 batters while having a 4.94 ERA with eight wins. As a senior he had a career high 47.1 innings pitched and 47 strikeouts in 17 appearances.
The MLB Draft League is the professional development portion of Major League Baseball, which is for players who have exhausted their college eligibility and/or will not be returning to college baseball.
