Purple Eagles Fall In Season Finale Against Siena

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Albany, N.Y.—The Niagara tennis teams concluded the regular season on Sunday in Albany as they faced Siena. Both teams fell 7-0 in their respective matches to the Saints.
Women's Recap
Doubles

Niagara was unable to take any of the three doubles matches.
Coral Rodriguez and Erika Gonzalez fell 6-1 in first doubles. Jaida Borg and Elena Mayet fell 6-0 in second doubles 6-0. Mercedes Velasco and Enrica Favaron won two sets in third doubles but fell 6-2.

Singles

Favaron was the lone Purple Eagles to force a third set. She fell 6-4 in the opening set of sixth singles match but won 6-4 in her second set. In the third set she fell 10-4.
Mayet fell in first singles, 6-4, 6-3. Rodriguez lost in second singles, 6-3, 6-1.
In third doubles Gonzalez fell 6-1, 6-0. Valasco could not generate momentum and fell 6-1, 6-0 in fourth doubles. Borg dropped a pair of set 6-2 in fifth singles.

Women's Notes

The women finish the regular season with five wins including two MAAC wins. Niagara finishes tied for fourth in the MAAC but were the first team out of the MAAC Championships after going to the third tiebreaker.

Men's Recap
Doubles

The Purple Eagles took the second double match. The duo of Manuel Alonso and Gurustat Makkar won their match 7-6
Trevor Masi and Tanner Bedard lost 7-5 in first doubles, in third doubles Roberto Vaca and Rohan Srivistava fell 6-4.

Singles

In second singles Bedard took the first set 6-4. In the second set he fell 6-2, he could not earn the point in the tiebreaker set as he fell 6-1.
Vaca also won his first set in sixth singles but could not earn the point. He fell 6-4 in the second set and 10-5 in the third set.
Masi, Bryce Bodak, Alonso, and Makkar all fell in straight sets in their single matches.

Men's Notes

The Purple Eagles conclude the season with six wins and a 3-3 MAAC record. The men's team was tied for fourth place but were the first team out due to Marist holding the tiebreaker over Niagara.
