BUFFALO, NY – After three days of action the Purple Eagles sit in second place on the men's and third on the women's side with 419 and 364 points, respectively.
Paige South got the day started for the Niagara women, posting a second-place finish in the 100 fly with a time of 56.16.
Zoe Gavin and
Kayla Kreger also posted top-eight finishes in the event with time of 56.99 and 57.30, respectively.
Megan Smith and
Kathryn Brady finished fifth and seventh in the 400 IM with times of 4:30.38 and 4:32.39, respectively.
Chloe Vlaeminck won the B-final with a time of 4:31.04.
In the 200 free with a time 1:54.31
Moana Houde-Camirand finished sixth, while
Avery King placed eighth with a mark of 1:56.62.
Amanda Silva and Brady picked up sixth and eighth place finishes in the 100 breast with 1:05.57 and 1:06.56. The women's night rounded out with a fourth-place finish in the 400 medley relay.
On the men's side, Niagara's evening was highlighted by a win in the 400 medley relay with
Riley Dafoe,
Jake Lauzonis,
Gio Germano, and
Nathan Dragon with a time of 3:17.81.
After setting the program record in the 100 breast with a time of 55.30, Lauzonis bettered his time by nearly a second in the A-final with a time of 54.79 to take second place.
Gio Germano finished second in the 100 fly with a time of 48.71.
Jake Ruffolo placed fifth in the 400 Im with a time of 3:58.77.
Reid Tichy,
Nathan Dragon and
Riley Dafoe took three of the top-eight spots in the 200 free with times of 1:39.27, 1:40.05, and 1:40.82, respectively.
John Furner finished second in the 3-meter dive with a six dive score of 254.10.
The Purple Eagles will close out the MAAC Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships tomorrow at the Burt Flickinger Center.
