POMONA, N.Y. – Dawson Bailey and Matt Ward have been named to the MAAC Baseball All-Tournament Team, announced by the conference on Sunday.

Bailey and Ward were instrumental in helping the Purple Eagles become the first No. 6 seed ever to win three MAAC Tournament games and advance to the final elimination bracket game.

In Niagara's five games played, Bailey batted .455 with a .520 on-base percentage and .909 slugging percentage. He had 10 hits and led the Purple Eagles in runs scored with 10. Bailey recorded six RBIs and three homeruns.

Bailey went an impressive 4-for-5 in Niagara's victory over No. 2 Marist and in the Purple Eagles' win over No. 1 Fairfield, he had four RBIs. He had multiple hits in three out of five games and multiple runs scored in four games.

Ward, who started all five games behind the dish for Niagara, batted .368 on the tournament with a .478 on-base percentage. He recorded a team-high nine RBIs during and added seven hits, including one double, one triple and one homerun, and four runs scored.

Ward had the pivotal three-run homerun which tied the game with No. 1 Fairfield, 14-14, in the top of the eighth inning. NU went on to win, 19-14, in 10 innings. He had a career-high five RBIs against the Stags and went 3-for-4 at the plate.
