Men's Tennis Closes Out Fall Season in Cleveland

Cleveland, OH—The Niagara Men's Tennis team traveled back to Cleveland for the second straight weekend to play in the Green and White Invite hosted by Cleveland State.
Day One
  • Trevor Masi matched up in the first round of the Green Flight and well in two sets against Michael Gurtner of Tiffin. Masi was the only Niagara played in the Green Flight.
  • Jorge Sedeno, Manuel Alonso, and Tanner Bedard were all in the White Flight. Sedeno fell in two sets, and Alonso lost in three sets. Bedard was the lone NU winner in the flight as he won 6-1, 6-3.
  • Gurustat Makkar, Bryce Bodak, and Roberto Vaca all played in the Magnus Flight. Makkar fell in two sets after he retired in the second set. Bodak won his match in three sets after winning the third set 10-4. Vaca fell in three sets after winning the opening set 6-4.
  • Bedard won his second match in straight sets 6-4, 6-1.
  • Sedeno fell in his second-round match in straight sets.
  • Alonso bounced back in his second match as he won in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.
  • Bodak won his second match 6-2 and 7-5 in the second round of the Magnus Flight.
  • Vaca fell in three sets in his second match of the day.
Day Two
  • Bodak was the lone Purple To play singles on day two as he fell 6-2 and 7-5 in his final match of the weekend.
  • Masi and Vaca fell in the first round of Doubles Group 1.
  • Alonso and Bedard were in the second group of doubles and won their match 7-5 to advance.
  • Sedeno and Makkar were also in the second group of doubles but they fell 6-3 in their match.
  • Masi and Vaca fell in their second match of the day as well.
  • The duo of Alonso and Bedard fell in their second match of doubles after winning their opening match.
  • The teams of Masi/Vaca and Bodak/Makkar fell in their third round match.
  • Alonso and Bedard closed their weekend on a high note as they won 6-3 in their third and final match.
