BUFFALO, NY – The Niagara men's team highlighted the first meet of the season with a sweep of the relay events, while the women picked up multiple top-five finishes against Cornell and host Buffalo.
Women's Recap
• In the 200 medley relay, Niagara placed fourth overall as the Purple Eagle quartet of
Paige South,
Amanda Silva,
Lila Maddux, and
Moana Houde-Camirand finished with a time of 1:49.86.
•
Megan Smith finished second in the 400 IM, touching the wall in 4:38.05, just ahead of teammate
Kathryn Brady who finished fourth with a time of 4:39.86.
• Maddux picked up a sixth-place finish in the 100 fly with a time of 59.07.
Zoe Gavin and Kayla Kreager also notched top-10 finishes with in eighth and ninth, respectively.

Maddie Norton made her collegiate debut and earned a fifth-place finish in the 50 back, with a time of 29.98. Sophomore
Nia Thomas placed 10th in the event with a time of 20.56, followed by
Anna Gann who placed 11th with a mark of 31.00.
• Houde-Camirand finished second in the 200 free with a time of 1:57.56, ahead of teammates
Maddie Hudson and
Avery King who placed sixth and seventh overall.
• South took home a fourth-place finish in the 50 free with a time of 24.68.
• In the 400 free relay, Houde-Camirand, Maddux, Thomas, and South finished in fifth with a time of 3:39.66.
• Niagara had three other relay quartets compete in the 400 free, finishing with times of 3:49.42, 3:51.14, and, 4:04.00 respectively.

Sydney Sarkis placed eight on the 1-meter board with a score of 199.98, followed by Morgan McMahon and
Maggie Hennebaul with scores of 141.30 and 138.45, respectively.
• The 200 free relay saw NU place third with its quartet of Houde-Camirand, South, Maddux and Thomas. The Purple Eagles finished with a time of 1:40.26.

Maggie Marody finished fifth in the 500 free with a time of 5:20.06.
• In the 100 IM, Maddux came in the third with a time of 1:00.24.

Maddie Hudson placed fourth in the 100 back, clocking in at 1:01.32.
• The 50 breast was highlighted by Silva's third place finish with a time of 31.60.
Men's Recap

Riley Dafoe,
Tanner Isaacs,
Kevin Vu and
Levi Morgan picked up a win in the 200 medlay relay with a time of 1:34.21.
• Niagara took the fourth through eighth spots in the 400 IM as
Sean Finley,
Chad Rocha,
Andrew Davis, and
Keith Elgar each placed in the A-final.
• Vu finished second in the 100 fly clocking in at 51.51, less than a full second behind the winner from Cornell.
Graeme Staples also collected a top-five finish in the 100 fly, finishing with a time of 57.37.
• Isaacs and
TyQuann Walker earned third and fourth place finishes in the 50 back with times 25.78 and 27.69, respectively.
• Dafoe added to his relay win earlier in the day with a second-place finish in the 200 free, completing the event in 1:42.14.
• Fellow Purple Eagle,
Jake Ruffolo finished in third with a time of 1:45.68 in third, followed by Dragon in fourth with a mark of 1:46.21.

James Huff came in fourth-place in the 100 breast, clocking in at 1:02.42, followed by
Sam Schwabauer in fifth and Elgar in sixth.
• Morgan picked up the team's second win of the afternoon with a first-place finish in the 50 free with a time of 21.45, ahead of teammate Germano in second with a time of 22.01.
• The men won their second relay of the day when Tichy, Dafoe, Ruffolo and Dragon finished the 400 free relay with a time of 3:09.92, edging out Cornell's quartet.
• Freshman
Patrick Scott earned a score of 142.65 on the 1-meter board.
• The Purple and White earned another relay win in the 200 free relay as Vu, Morgan, Ruffolo and Dragon finished with a time of 1:25.64.
• Germano,
Rowan Markham, Schwabauer and Huff placed third with a time of 1:28.47.
• Dafoe notched a win in the 500 free with a time of 4:43.95, followed by Dragon in third with a time of 4:50.49.
• Ruffolo finished second in the 100 IM, touching the wall in 54.07, while Isaacs finished fifth in 55.03.
• Germano added to the Purple Eagles win total with a time of 52.33 in the 100 back to edge out the competition. Walker clocked in a 1:00.49 for a fourth-place finish.

Jake Lauzonis placed second in the 50 breast with a time of 27.91.
•
Alex Magditch and Markham finished top-five in the 100 free with times of 49.07 and 49.48.
• The men completed the sweep of the relays with a win in the 400 free relay. Dafoe, Finley, Vu, and Dragon clocked in at 3:28.02 to earn the win.
•
John Furner recorded the top Purple Eagle score in the 3-meter board with a score of 214.73.
