The Purple Eagles will play a pair of matches this week. NU will face the Buffalo Bulls on Friday morning and host Bloomsburg on Saturday afternoon.  

Scene Setter

• Niagara resumed its season with a pair of matches last weekend. The Purple Eagles battled in defeats to Ball State (5-0) and Michigan State (7-0) in East Lansing, Michigan.  
• The Purple Eagles had a strong fall with solid performances as a team and as individuals.
• Niagara won both of its dual matches. NU downed Rider, 5-2, on September 21 on the newly-renovated tennis courts on campus.
• The Purple Eagles beat Daemen College, 7-0, a week later.
• Niagara and UB will meet for the first time in five seasons.

Match Tidbits

• Pere Padro led the Purple Eagles with a 9-2 record in singles during the fall season.
• Manuel Alonso was second on the team in wins with six, followed by Darrel Harxhi and Bruno Goncalves who both had five wins.
• In doubles, the top duo of Jorge Sedeno and Harxhi was a team-best 4-3.

 
Across The Net – Buffalo Bulls (1-2)

• The Bulls improved to 1-2 on the season after defeating St. Bonaventure, 7-0, on February 1.
• Three Bulls are tied for the team-lead in singles wins with 8 – Vilhelm Fridell, Matthew Johnson, and Valdemar Holm.
• UB is 26-16 in doubles matches.

Across The Net – Bloomsburg Huskies (2-1)

• Bloomsburg will be playing its first match of the spring.
• The Huskies went 2-1 in the fall including a 7-0 win over Mount St. Mary's on October 11.
